After living in our house for over 2 1/2 years (and squeezing a family of 6 into 2 small bedrooms), we are finally finishing our basement. Although Ryan was willing and able to do the work himself, we decided he just doesn't have the time. So most of the work is being done for us and it's fun to see the progress - things are moving along pretty quickly. We're finally done with the demolition phase and are starting the framing. The demolition was even messier than we expected... we ended up deciding to get rid of the chimney (we don't have a fireplace) - it was used to heat the home with coal when the house was first built. So needless to say, coal dust was everywhere! After walking across our kitchen floor, I had to take a picture of my foot to prove how dirty everything was! It's kind of hard to live through a remodel, but it will be well worth it!

Love the pics and I love your music track! It's usually almost always playing while I'm at work :D
I'm excited to see the finished project. I'm sure it will be a far cry from the green beads hanging from the bottom of the stairs. Keep us updated with picctures please!
